Born in Chicago and growing up in the Chicagoland area, Founder, Owner and Lead Attorney Lindsay B. Coleman started her career as an Assistant State’s Attorney (“ASA”) for the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she worked both in law school and after, sharpening her trial skills and forming immeasurable, lifetime friendships and networks. In 2011, Lindsay founded Coleman Law, P.C. to provide boutique and personalized services to those who needed unique and individual solutions to their complex legal matters, including alternative dispute resolutions. However, if initial negotiations and settlements fail, Lindsay confidentially falls back upon her training at the State’s Attorney’s Office and experience thereafter by taking cases to hearing and trials. She is beyond familiar with the legal community and court system, seamlessly maintaining wonderful relationships with attorneys, judges, court personnel, and other professionals that aid support in legal matters.
Lindsay practices law with honor, integrity, competence, and compassion, understanding her client’s concerns and needs that arise by proficiently evaluating relevant facts, applying them to the law. Lindsay does not consider clients to be "cases" but people who deserve knowledgeable, affordable, and respectable legal services. Having constant communication with clients is crucial in providing representation second to none. You will never need to ask, “[w]hat is going on with my case” because as soon as she knows, so will you. Keeping clients fully informed in a timely manner is another crucial difference between Coleman Law, P.C. and other law firms. Also, providing care, comfort, and experienced legal services is at the heart of Lindsay’s representation of clients, their families, and their work. Coleman Law, P.C. does not maintain "banker's" business hours since people’s needs do not start and stop between 9 am to 5 pm.
Lindsay represents individuals and businesses from small business up to large organizations, including but not limited to being contracted out by a National Football League (NFL) organization for various legal matters and having litigated some of its cases. She specializes in representing professional athletes, former players (“alumni”), coaches, front office personnel, executives and their families to meet whatever the legal needs that arise, including but not limited to agency work, contract preparation/review, domestic relations, real estate, defense of traffic and other criminal charges, business deals, charitable work and foundations, and provide legal services relative to involvement with youth athletic camps put on by professional athletes and/or coaches.
Lindsay is honored to be key note speakers for certain organizations, businesses, and/or groups. She also enjoys presenting and writing on different topics of the law as well as participating annually in May for Law Day, a special time where she attends different schools and classes to teach children of all ages about the law.
Lindsay has been a long-standing member of the Illinois Bar Association (“ISBA”), Association of Family and Conciliation Courts ("AFCC") , Lake County Bar Association ("LCBA"), Chicago Bar Association ("CBA"), Academy of Women Attorneys in Lake County (“AWALC”), is a Fellow with the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois (“CLII"), and belongs to the International Academy of Collaborate Professionals ("IACP”). She has sat on the Board of Directors for the Academy of Women Attorneys in Lake County and other Board of Directors for various foundations and businesses, including presiding over her own homeowner’s association (2018 - present).
Volunteering her time and giving back to others is very important to Lindsay. She donates her time to a handful of charitable organizations, including working on professional athletic charitable foundations. Additionally, Lindsay strongly believes in providing pro bono legal services, to children and adults, from mediating unrepresented cases and drafting Orders in Court to rendering legal services to individuals on a case-by-case basis.
