Madeline Koontz, Esq
Born in Guangzhou, China, Madeline immigrated to the United States as an adoptee when she was a baby. After going through the process of being re-adopted in 2015, Madeline became exposed to the world of family law when her family worked with a domestic relations attorney. While it wasn't until her junior year of undergraduate that Madeline decided to pursue a career in law, she has always maintained an interest in the field.
Growing up in a home which valued education, helping others, and community values, Madeline began volunteering at a young age, from helping pack food and goods to be shipped to third-world countries to working after-school programs for Baltimore City charter schools.
After moving to Chicago for law school, Madeline also developed a passion for criminal defense, stemmed from her clerkship with Coleman Law, P.C. during her first year in law school. Deciding to continue working for Coleman Law, P.C. for all three years of her law school career, Madeline became exposed to the intense and exciting world of litigation in both family and criminal law.
With her vast participation and ongoing exposure to both the suburban and urban populations of Maryland and Illinois, Madeline gained empathy and understanding to the different dynamics of family, community, and values. It is with these experiences that Madeline takes with her when working with different clients and and their unique situations. She believes that no case is the same and without perspective she cannot adequately or effectively represent her clients, something she strives to do on a daily basis.
Although she is only newly licensed, Madeline has sat in on multiple Court hearings and attended various Court calls in both Lake and Cook counties. With her previous experience in the Courtroom combined with her background propelling her forwards along with her eagerness to advocate for clients, Madeline is ready and willing to represent all those who come to her in need and always will do so with the upmost care and compassion.
